Prime Minister Netanyahu's 2016 Holiday Greetings

Introducing "Joy Bear"
The Season of LIGHT

We at Jerusalem Vistas/Israel Vision and Still Small Voice send to YOU our dear frends worldwide our very best wishes for Christmas, Chanukah and all through 2017.

As you watch the message below, you may notice that our new "Rescue" pup and mascot is making an appearance. His name was Joya. Someone told us that it meant "Searcher" in Arabic.

Now that he has settled in, we have discovered that his favourite activities are sleeping next to the wood stove and getting hugs. As a result, the grandchildren have renamed him "Joy Bear"

Join us in the video below, as Meridel gives personal greetings to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a reception held at the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. She was able to mention that the lovely life size oil painting portraits of the presidents and prime ministers which hang in the entrance way to the cabinet room, were painted by renowned Canadian artist, Joy Caros Rawlings of Vancouver, BC, Canada and are a gift to the country. PM Netanyahu's response to  Meridel was the warm Israeli expression, "Kol Ha Kavod"~meaning in English "Congratulations"!

These are days of unprecedented attacks on Israel by the United Nations. They continue to castigate Israel with their lopsided resolutions with not even a single  mention of of the Russian backed genocide of women and children in Aleppo by Assad's regime propped up by Iran.  The Bible says, "Woe unto those who call good evil and evil good."  The Prime Minister clearly refers to this in his Christmas Message, at the end of the video. Please pray for him. Thanks.

We Know that the LIGHT Will Always Triumph Over Darkness.

In HIS love,
Jay and Meridel and Team

Dr. Aryeh Eldad: A War Between Civilization and Barbarism

In an article published by Arutz7, Dr. Aryeh Eldad for the first time released a statement that he requested be widely distributed so that people will understand what is taking place all over the world. It is important to understand what radical Islam is about and what the world is facing if it is not stopped.

Dr. Eldad:
I was instrumental in establishing the Israeli National Skin Bank, which is the largest in the world. The National Skin Bank stores skin for everyday needs as well as for war time or mass casualty situations. The skin bank is hosted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem University hospital in Jerusalem where I was the Chairman of plastic surgery.

This is how I was asked to supply skin for an (Muslim) Arab woman from Gaza, who was hospitalized in Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, after her family burned her. Usually, such atrocities happen among (Muslim) Arab families when the women are suspected of having an affair.

We supplied all the needed Homograft for her treatment. She was successfully treated by my friend and colleague, Prof. Lior Rosenberg, and discharged to return to Gaza. She was invited for regular follow-up visits to the outpatient clinic in Be'er-Sheva.

One day she was caught at a border crossing wearing a suicide belt. Her mission was to explode herself in the outpatient clinic of the hospital where they saved her life. It seems that her family promised her that if she did that, they would forgive her.

This is only one example of the war between Jews and Muslims in the Land of Israel. It is not a territorial conflict. This is a civilizational conflict, or rather a war between civilization and barbarism.

Bibi Netanyahu gets it, Obama does not.

"I have never written before asking to please forward onward, so that as many as possible can understand radical Islam and what awaits the world if it is not stopped."

Urgent Prayer Request!

Dear Friends and Partners
I, Meridel Rawlings am writing on behalf of Jay.

Five days ago he was admitted to the cardiac unit in Jerusalem’s  Share Tzedek  Hospital. (Gates of  Righteousness) He is under supervision and intensive testing to discern the cause of his rapid heart beat, shortness of breath and fluid in his lungs. He is taking medication to slow his heart.

Tomorrow he will  under go a “shock” to the heart. The Doctors will stop it and start it again, hoping to regulate the heart beat. We need your prayers at this critical time~my sons and I thank You and we know You are there for us.

Jay and I hate having to ask for financial help. We find it very humbling, and in a perfect world we could just keep working and say nothing about expenses. But that is not the case. Stress is part of the load here, and financials are very close to the top of the list. If there is any way you could send a donation to help us keep  Jerusalem Vistas/Israel Vision going at this very critical time, we would be most grateful. (Directions for giving are at the end of this message.)

2016 was an action packed year and there is reason to be a little weary. Upon return to Israel we have experienced one hit after the other on so many levels. It feels like an onslaught, but now, with Jay taken out of commission, we know we are under direct attack. We are being inundated with regulations and hidden fees. The office is currently squeezed into the living room of our home. At this time we have had to cancel everything, but  try to carry on as best we can under the circumstances. We are being tried and tested.

Pray with us for Jay’s complete recovery Please. Pray also that he will allow himself to rest and heal when he returns home from the hospital. We Need Him in order to carry on with the Kingdom work.

Thank You All for remembering Israel in your prayers. We sense that things are changing for the better. Remember this is “a land the LORD our God cares for~always”...Deuteronomy 11:11-12
This comes with love from our home to yours...

Every blessing at this Hanukah and Christmas time,
Meridel Rawlings, sons and team

The Myth Of Palestinian Arab Refugees Exposed

For many years there have been opposing sides on the issue of "Palestinian Refugees". This topic has been discussed, fought over and tossed around for years. For some reason, (unknown it seems) to the western world, the problem is growing with frightening speed. Why?

Part of the problem is the western way of thinking and its incompatibility with the middle-east mind set. Part of it is a plethora of red herrings making understanding difficult to say the least. We are constantly looking for videos, that contain facts and figures to help those who are interested in truth. The video below is from a series made by former Ambassador, Yorim Ettinger.

Yarom Ettinger is an insider on US-Israel relations, Mideast politics and overseas investments in Israel's high tech.  He is a member of the American-Israel Demographic Research Group (AIDRG), which has documented dramatic flaws behind demographic fatalism on one hand and a Jewish demographic momentum on the other hand.

Mr. Ettinger is a consultant to members of Israel’s Cabinet and Knesset, and regularly briefs U.S. legislators and their staff on Israel’s contribution to vital U.S. interests, on the root causes of international terrorism and other issues of bilateral concern. Ambassador (ret.) Ettinger's Op Eds have been published in Israel and in the US, and he has been interviewed on Israel's and US’ TV and radio.  He was also a speaker at an AIPAC Annual Conference.

Ambassador (ret.) Ettinger~who did his graduate studies at UCLA and undergraduate at UTEP~served as Minister for Congressional Affairs at Israel's Embassy in Washington (with a rank of an ambassador), Israel's Consul General in Houston and Director of Israel's Government Press Office.  He is the editor of Straight from the Jerusalem Cloakroom and Boardroom newsletters on issues of national security and overseas investments in Israel's high-tech.

Israel~Land of Heros and Suicide Bombers

Motor Cycle Police (Picture: TAB)
Yesterday was a quiet morning. When I arrived at the tram stop I was alone. A few meters away I heard shouts and looked up to see the tram security guards challenging a young Arab man. He was behaving very aggressively, swinging an object of some type at the guard~trying to back him onto the rails.

Before I had registered what was happening the guard had him on the ground while others across the track were clearing the area. In a matter of minutes the rapid response motor cycle police and other security forces swarmed the are, the streets were cleared and taped off in each direction.

I did not realize it at the time, but the guards had contained and neutralized the attacker, while blocking any danger to the public with their own bodies until their colleagues could clear the area.

One guard knelt at the man's head to keep him from moving while the second pulled his clothing away~to insure there were no hidden weapons or explosive devices.
Terrorist Neutralized (Picture: TAB)

The streets in all directions were quickly cordoned off and security forces lined up to keep people at a safe distance. Shops along the street closed the doors and some lowered the metal treis.  Of course, because this is Israel, the majority of the people were trying to get closer to see what was happening!

What I (or the other onlookers) did not know at the time, was that there were several pipe bombs in the man's back pack. One of the guards who was first on the spot told our "crowd" he saw wires and suspected it was a bomb~describing it to the delight and awe of us all.

The local news has since reported that as well as the pipe bombs, there were knives in the bag and that a major attack was planned for the tram.

One of the first things to arrive (along with squads of police) was a truck carrying the "robot". This tiny tractor is sent in to exam suspicious packages to determine the next action. It is kind of like a giant robotic toy and people quite enjoyed seeing it deployed!
The Robot (Picture: TAB)

At the start of these types of situation many things happen in rapid succession. From the start, and well past the "all clear", there were forces lined at each end of the streets to keep the curious out of harm's way, answer questions and most importantly, watch for other dangerous persons that may be mingling in the crowd.

Of course, we had now been pushed back to the intersection and details of what was going on were difficult to see.

Local news has since reported that one of the guards, a Druze, had challenged the man in Arabic after noticing that he looked out of place (he was from the PA area in the West Bank). The guard spotted wires sticking out of the bag~and as a result of his quick actions a disaster was avoided. *When the local news spoke with him he had to cover his face to avoid being identified and targeted for retribution.
Dogs Arriving (Picture: TAB)
Next to arrive were the bomb-sniffing dogs~there were three, with tails wagging and ears alert. Around the same time a second, smaller robot was also deployed.

I was guessing that they were checking all the shops on the street to see if the Arab had planted any bombs prior to being apprehended.

Our security forces stepped up to the mark once again. Had the young Arab been able to enter the tram I do not want to think of the results.

Thanks to our brave men and women in Israel, we are blessed avoid the large scale slaughter that has been taken place in Europe and America. They know what to look for and do not hesitate to challenge anyone who they think is a danger.

Israel~We Are Only One Call Away

One Call Away~Contest Film by Rachel Lester for 12 Tribe Films

Lyrics to the Background Song by Charlie Puth

I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
1
Call me, baby, if you need a friend
I just wanna give you love
Come on, come on, come on
Reaching out to you, so take a chance
No matter where you go
You know you're not alone
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
Come along with me and don't be scared
I just wanna set you free
Come on, come on, come one
You and me can make it anywhere
For now, we can stay here for a while, ay
'Cause you know, I just wanna see you smile
No matter where you go
You know you're not alone
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
And when you're weak I'll be strong
I'm gonna keep holding on
Now don't you worry, it won't be long, Darling
And when you feel like hope is gone
Just run into my arms
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one, I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
I'm only one call away

Nepal My Love~Working to Fight Child Trafficking

Here is a sneak preview of some still photos from the movie project on Nepal that the Rawlings family are working on called, "You CAN make a Difference". It is about combatting human trafficking and sexual abuse of children in this beautiful "rooftop of the world" mountain kingdom.

Jay is currently writing the script and found some pictures he thought you would like to see.  They were taken during a 17 km trek up towards the Annapurna range of the Himalaya Mountains. It was there that Meridel, Chris and David met (by chance) a young man and his sickly mother. As you will see, they met other special people as well, young and old alike.

One of the many joys for Meridel was when she was able to buy shoes and socks for several young children who had "never" had their own shoes or socks!

The Beauty of the Negev~March 2016

Join Jay and Meridel on their synagogue's annual English Bible Study tour.  This year they, and eighteen others decided to visit the amazing Negev desert for three days and two overnights.

The Negev is the only desert in the world that is decreasing in size as the Israeli farmers are busy making "the desert bloom."

To quote Jay,

"We especially enjoyed the spring time flora and fauna starting in the Ramon Crater, then at Kibbutz Ketura. There we learned about this unique community that celebrate their Jewish traditions as a great big family of 250 people! There local leaders taught about hearing the "Still Small Voice" and valuing the desert.  We also visited Eilat where we learned the history of Israel's southern most city surrounded by 3 Arab nations, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It was a very inspiring trip indeed."

Christian Group Finally Wins A Victory For Free Speech!

Christians in Toronto spoke out, and after a fight they have won their case. So just what is this about?

In Dundas Square there are many events that take place. For the past five years, a Christian organization called Voices of the Nations has held an event to "promote diversity within the Christian Community by showcasing its mosaic of fine arts and music" .

Suddenly in October of 2015, they were informed that they would not be issued a permit for their next festival because "praising Jesus in their song’s lyrics contravenes the city policy against “proselytizing.”

*Proselytizing means to try to persuade someone to switch to your religious beliefs

Go back and read that again...they were denied a permit for their concert because they sang about Jesus! Now consider that they do not stop Muslims from setting up booths for the express purpose of “proselytizing” (ie) converting people to Islam. Likewise when Omar Albach, a Muslim University student blasted out the Muslim Call to Prayer, not only was he not stopped, he was not even warned by the police!

Whatever happened to Canada as a Free Country with Freedom of Speech??

Whether you are a Christian, Jew or do not hold by any faith at all this should cause great concern. If you are Christian this is a wake up call! Christians in the middle east are being persecuted and slaughtered for their refusal to turn their backs on Jesus. If  Christians in the west continue to placidly sit back and "hope it will blow over" you will soon find yourselves on the run just like your brothers and sisters in the middle east~and note that nobody is rushing to take them in as refugees.

Below is the story. Listen carefully to the exact words of the bigoted woman who denied the permit...and remember if you are not for your faith~who is?

Listen to the Bigot Deny the Group Because they Sing About Jesus! Then Hear the Good News!

Suddenly Jerusalem~Flashmob

Jay and Meridel's oldest son, David is married to a choreographer, Adi Gordon Rawlings. She creates and helps produce many programs for Israel, including this "Flash Mob" for the Ministry of Tourism.

The location is the "Old Train Station" which has been converted to a spot for everyone to come to. There are many restaurants, stores and even entertainment and rides for children. It has a classic "railway" atmosphere and even a small train going up and down giving rides to kids. The central section is often used for concerts, dances and other entertainments. All around are a multitude of small "carts" where local vendors sell their crafts and wares. If you are in Jerusalem, it is a fun place to visit.
